2Ti 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
STUDY-greek(spoudazō)-to exert one's self, endeavour, give diligence
APPROVED-greek-(dokimos)accepted, pleasing, acceptable
WORKMAN-greek-(ergatēs)a labourer
RIGHTLY DIVIDING-greek-orthotomeō-to cut straight, to cut straight ways, to proceed on straight paths, hold a straight course, equiv. to doing right, to make straight and smooth, to handle aright, to teach the truth directly and correctly.
What is intended here is not "dividing" Scripture from Scripture, but teaching Scripture accurately.
root-orthos-1) straight, erect, upright, not crooked.
This is where we get our english word orthopedic. (Just as an orthopedic surgeon would set a broken bone straight and not crooked, so too, a minister of the Gospel is to preach God’s Word straight and accurate, not mixing it with false teaching or a watered down version to appease the masses.
WORD-greek(logos)-the sayings of God, a word, uttered by a living voice.
TRUTH-greek(alētheia)-the truth as taught in the Christian religion, respecting God and the execution of his purposes through Christ, and respecting the duties of man, opposing alike to the superstitions of the Gentiles and the inventions of the Jews, and the corrupt opinions and precepts of false teachers even among Christians.

Psa 119:130 "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." There's nothing more powerful than God's Word being alive in man's heart.
About Me
- Shelley Brown
- Artist’s statement: The nature of my work stems from photographing those things around me that I love the most. My family, my home, my garden, my dog. My intense love for color is the driving passion behind my work. I LOVE bright, vivid, bold, color. Color is God’s joyful expression of LIFE. To enjoy life in its fullness is to see the blue skies, the white clouds, the green grass. I believe that if we see clearly(that is, in His light), that we shall be able to ENJOY all the colors that surround us. Enjoying life means more than having things, but enjoying the things we have. Those things in our lives which bring the most joy are things not made by man but created by God.
